Regional daily launches football podcast ahead of new season

A regional daily has launched a new podcast as its patch’s main club prepares to embark on a Premier League adventure.

The Huddersfield Daily Examiner’s ‘Ooh To Be A…’ podcast first aired on Monday, with the newspaper’s journalists discussing the new Huddersfield Town season.

The podcast, named after popular Town supporters’ chant ‘Ooh To Be A Terrier’, will be available each Monday and Thursday.

Hosted by Examiner digital production journalist Raj Bains, it will feature contributions from sports editor Mel Booth, as well as football writers Blake Welton and Rory Benson.

Examiner editor Wayne Ankers said: “We are just weeks away from Town embarking on a huge adventure so we decided the time is right for us to look at our coverage.

“As well as providing daily content and video as well as blogging every match this gives us another way of reaching out to fans and allowing our experts to give their views and opinions on what is happening at the club.

“It is a very exciting time for the club and the town as a whole and this is a great new addition to our coverage.”
