Post-Brexit ‘staycation’ boom prompts new magazine launch

An expected post-Brexit increase in people holidaying at home has inspired an independent publisher to launch a new magazine on its patch.

The KM Group has announced the launch of Destination Kent, which is aimed at highlighting the best attractions to visit in the county.

More than 75,000 copies of the magazine are being distributed via Self Select into major supermarkets across Kent, Sussex, Essex, Surrey and South East London.

A further 25,000 will be available at campsites, hotels, visitor centres and caravan parks.

Destination Kent

The magazine is accompanied by a companion e-edition and responsive website.

KM Group editorial director Ian Carter said the launch was inspired by the anticipated increase in ‘staycations’ post-Brexit.

He added: “Kent has got a huge amount to attract visitors, and not just the well-known landmarks like the White Cliffs or Leeds Castle.

“Places like Margate and Folkestone are really on the up, and this has been the perfect opportunity.”

Commercial director Neil Webster added: “We took the view that following the referendum decision that more people would be holidaying or taking day trips in the UK.

“The response from advertisers has been brilliant and we are certain that ‘Destination Kent’ will help them have a bumper summer.”

A good initiative by this independent publisher and I’m sure it will prove to be a useful guide for visitors to the area , it would have been useful to spread the word of kents many attractions further than the immediate local area as I’m sure local people will be aware of what’s on offer but that’s the aim of staycations and is where the online edition will be useful I assume.

This is the way ahead post brexit, far better than those ‘ remainders’ still raking over the ashes who really ought to stop moping around whining and boring everyone about brexit , face facts and do something positive to encourage and stimulate local trade by supporting local initiatives such as this.
Good wishes to all concerned with this new launch

South side Johnny: By “remainders”, you presumably mean “remainers”. Nice try…but not as memorable as “Hair-brained”.
