You can say many things about the photo caption on this Essex Chronicle story, but you can’t say it’s inaccurate.

The picture, dating from last year’s EU referendum campaign, was re-used in a recent story about local MP Douglas Carswell leaving UKIP.

The caption error was noticed by Joe Twyman, Yougov head of political and social research, who shared the image on Twitter.

In case you were wondering, the “someone else” in question is Labour MP and chair of the ‘Vote Leave’ campaign Gisela Stuart.
