A show charting 900 years of history on a weekly newspaper’s patch has been written by its editor.
Liz Davies, editor of the Abergavenny Chronicle, penned ‘Abergavenny Chronicled’ to tell the story of the town through music and song.
The show has been performed at Abergavenny’s Borough Theatre, with proceeds going to the Sir Ray Tindle Fund.
All profits from this show will be distributed among organisations on the Tindle-owned Chronicle’s patch.
Said Liz: “We’ve tried to put together a fun, yet informative show, which will give an alternative view of our town with some good music thrown in.
“The great thing for us is that all the money we raise will be handed out good causes in the Abergavenny Chronicle’s area, so it’s our chance to give something back to the community.
“Last year thanks to the fund raising efforts of Chronicle staff we handed out £2,000 in small grants and it would be wonderful if we could match that amount this year.”
