Weekly’s wrap celebrates club’s sporting success

A weekly newspaper celebrated its local football team’s success with a front and back page wraparound.

The East Fife Mail printed the wrap after East Fife FC clinched the Scottish League Two title, securing their promotion to the third level of Scotlan’s football system.

To supplement the coverage of sports reporter Scott Inglis, who reported on the 0-0 draw against Clyde which sealed promotion, the paper set about producing a wrap using pics of the celebrations after the match.

It was published in last week’s edition of the Johnston Press-owned Mail, pictured below.

Editor Allan Crow said: “It has gone down a treat with fans.

“We’ve had a number of calls from supporters outwith (beyond) Fife asking to buy copies of the paper, while tweets showing it have been widely shared on social media.

“It was good to be able to celebrate the club’s success.

“The wrap was produced by our design team in Sheffield and turned around very quickly to meet our Tuesday lunchtime print slot.”

Have they not been promoted to the second level? From Division Two to Division One with the Premiership above?

Wrap doesn’t work for me as the right hand side of the photo isn’t that good.

In reply to Paul Jenkins, the story is correct. East Fife are going up from level four to level three of a four-level system – the Championship is between Division One and the Premiership.
