The general secretary of the National Union of Journalists is set to stand for re-election to the role.
The full-time post is based at the NUJ’s London head office, working exclusively for the union.
Michelle was elected unopposed in 2011, making her the NUJ’s first ever female leader.
The former Daily Express journalist had previously held the position of deputy general secretary.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is noon on Tuesday 12 April, with a ballot of union members to be held after.
