A journalist who works as digital editor for three sister dailies has set a personal best after competing in the Great North Run for the 11th time.
Ross Robertson – who works for the Hartlepool Mail, Shields Gazette and Sunderland Echo – ran the half-marathon on Sunday.
Ross was competing in aid of Farplace Animal Sanctuary, in Bishop Auckland.
The 36-year-old, pictured below, is a member of running club Vegan Runners UK.
The run, first established in 1981, sees contestants run between Newcastle and South Shields.
Ross completed the course in one hour 53 minutes.
He said: “I found it easier than previous years, but it’s still a pretty tough run.
“It’s the best time I’ve done it in, so I’m very pleased.”
