Regional publisher to provide content for where to live guide

ArchantA regional publisher has announced an exclusive deal with a leading property website to provide content for a guide on the best places to live.

The year-long partnership will see Archant’s content agency Dialogue write for the Zoopla website’s ‘Living In’ series.

The series features a guide to where to live in each area with information on schools, employment and property types.

It also makes use of regional knowledge to provide an overview of “key discussion points” in each area.

The partnership will also see a Zoopla-branded search widget appear on all of Archant’s Homes 24 websites, and the sites of its Life and County magazine titles.

The content provided by Dialogue will cover areas including Kent, Edinburgh, Greater Manchester, London, West Yorkshire, West Midlands, Lancashire, Essex and Merseyside.

Craig Nayman, Archant’s chief commercial officer, said: “We pride ourselves on our strong relationships with consumers, as we sit right at the heart of communities throughout the UK.

“This puts us in the best possible position to create this content for Zoopla, as well as providing a platform for them to reach with our highly engaged audience through our own media brands.

“It’s a great example of how we can take this regional expertise and create an innovative way for partners to benefit.”

Gareth Helm, chief marketing officer at Zoopla Property Group, said: “We’ve worked with Archant for a number of years now and content creation is a natural addition to the existing partnership.

“Archant’s knowledge of local communities ensures that the content created is informative and relevant and truly benefits our users across the Zoopla site.”

Survival of the UK regional press is ultimately going to depend on creating new and innovative revenue streams. Well done Archant.

Homes24 is already using Zoopla, as its “powered by Zoopla”, so with some additional content on the site about best places to live , does it really warrant a fan fair from archant towers. I think not.

A shrewd move by Archant. Any innovation that plugs in a regional paper and its social and community interest with a partner with financial benefits must be good. Just as long as it delivers impartial content – warts and all.
