Regional magazine closes after founding editor dies in tractor crash

stephanie-boothA regional lifestyle magazine has ceased publication after its founding editor died in a tractor crash.

Tributes have been paid to Stephanie Booth, left, who edited Yattar Yattar – which circulated across North Wales, Mid Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

It featured information about local events, articles about businesses, restaurant reviews, property, pets, competitions and weddings.

Stephanie, 70, was pronounced dead on her farmland near Corwen, North Wales, after her body was discovered by husband David.

It is understood the tractor went too close to the top of a bank and rolled down for 20 feet before it overturned last Sunday.

According to the North Wales Daily Post, Stephanie, who had undergone gender reassignment surgery in 1983, had been active in the world of business in North Wales for years, running a number of hotels and once being in the running to buy football club Wrexham AFC.

A message on the Yattar Yattar website states: “Due to the untimely death of our founder and editor Stephanie Booth, we are afraid to say that Yattar Yattar will cease to publish.”

Sioned Morys, director of Chwarel TV & Radio, said: “Stephanie really was a force of nature – a dynamic, unstoppable character who never took no for an answer.

“But above all, she was my friend, and I’m going to miss her greatly. We will never find another Steph. She truly was a one-off.”
