Regional agency brothers launch new transatlantic photo company

Two photographer brothers whose careers began working with regional press titles are launching a new transatlantic picture agency.

Christopher and Peter Whittle have founded Atlantic Images, which will be based in London and Vancouver as well as having a team based in Los Angeles.

Christopher and Peter began their careers working for Manchester-based news agency Cavendish Press from 2002-4 and 2004-7, respectively, where they covered courts, football and Coronation Street.

During their time with Cavendish, which had been founded by their late father Brian in 1979, they serviced the Manchester Evening News and other local newspapers, as well as national media.

The pair, pictured above, later went on to work for the Splash agency in Los Angeles.

As part of their new venture, the brothers intend to use clever branding and innovative product placement for clients while still maintaining editorial integrity.

Said Christopher: “With a growing team of contributors, we recognise talented people as our most important asset.

“As photographers ourselves, we understand the hard work that goes into producing quality images and our mission is to simply make content work harder.

“We have identified several emerging platforms which will better monetise content where it has proven difficult for other larger agencies to expand into.”
