Just looking at some of the other industry moves and it always surprises me how many people with top digital jobs are moved internally, in fact of all the papers I’ve worked at – and of people I know still in the industry – none have been brought in from the digital world to take on those roles. A 50-year-old former sub in an Angry Birds T-shirt is not going to create an innovative digital strategy, I’m sorry to say.
