To be fair, I have known of horses which didn’t run (in) the Grand National. Local reference at start of headline and everyone’s happy.

Absolutely terrible – a joke. Who’d pay 55p for that? I know people have bills to pay for but what’s the point in going to work to produce that?

Having checked the list of people who had been in the story, it seems after the sub completed it a highly experienced member in the Argus/Penarth/Barry office also checked the story out afterwards. They either changed the headline to what you see, or they were happy with it.
