Readers urged to submit book reviews in daily’s Waterstones tie-up

A book club which will see readers’ literary reviews appear in print and online has been launched by a regional daily.

The Citizen, Gloucester, has teamed up with retailer Waterstones to set up the Citizen Book Club, with readers being offered discount on certain titles.

Each month, staff at the Waterstones shop, in Gloucester, will choose a specific novel for readers to enjoy, the first of which is The Girl Who Wasn’t There by Ferdinand von Schirach.

A discount of 20pc will given to readers using a book token, pictured below, which will be printed in The Citizen’s print edition and on its website from the first Saturday of each month.

Citizen editor Jenny Eastwood told readers: “Whether it is that ultimate beach read or simply a chance for you to unwind after work, the Citizen book club is a way of encouraging more people to get their nose into a novel or two.

“We are excited to be working with Waterstones in Gloucester to give readers this exclusive book offer each month.

“And we can’t wait to receive your reviews in each month which we will print in the paper and online.”
