Former daily business editor honoured by city he served

A former regional daily business editor has been honoured by the city he served for almost four decades.

Richard Tresidder, who worked at the Nottingham Post, has been presented with a Nottingham Award, given annually to a handful of people who have made a significant contribution to the city.

Richard, who is still a prolific contributor to the columns of the Post, was praised by awards organiser One Nottingham for both the quality of his journalism and the consistency of his support for Nottingham.

He was presented with his award by the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire Sir John Peace, at this year’s Goose Fair dinner at Nottingham Council House.

Said Richard: “I’m never comfortable being the story. But it’s an honour to receive this award.”

Post editor Mike Sassi added: “Richard’s award is hugely deserved. He is a consummate professional and a great role model for young journalists.  He’s also a tremendous individual.”
