Former regional journalists tell story of whisky distillery

A new book about a distillery which produces the only British Isles blend whisky has been produced by two former regional journalists.

Ken Oxley and Peter Jackson, who both worked for NCJ Media in Newcastle, have written Faith, Hope Luck and Love, which tells the story of The Lakes Distillery, in Cumbria.

Sunderland-based Remember Media designed and produced the 192 page glossy hardback book, edited by Kathryn Armstrong, herself a former features editor with Trinity Mirror.

The book will be on sale at the distillery’s new showcase visitor centre close to Bassenthwaite in Cumbria.

Said Kathryn: “As a project, the publication of Faith, Hope, Luck and Love has relied on all those things – and what journalist wouldn’t enjoy writing about a distillery?

“The publication of such a prestigious book signals exciting times for Remember Media.

“It’s a quality read and beautiful to look at, which is what our publications are all about.

“In these digital-obsessed days, there is still very much a market for something tangible to read, enjoy and engage with. This book and our luxury magazines recognise this.”
