Entries sought for awards celebrating county cricket coverage

Regional journalists and newspapers are being invited to enter awards celebrating the best reporting of county cricket.

The English Cricket Board is now welcoming entries for the County Cricket Journalism Awards 2015.

The awards, now in their fourth year, are designed to recognise outstanding contributions towards the coverage of domestic cricket during the 2015 English season.

Categories on offer include Regional Newspaper of the Year, won last year by the Yorkshire Post, and Best Online Coverage of the Year.

Other previous winners of the regional newspaper prize include the Derby Telegraph, which won it in 2013 for its coverage of Derbyshire.

The category is open to any daily, evening or weekly regional newspaper in England and Wales.

Also up for grabs is the Christopher Martin-Jenkins Young Journalist of the Year award, named in honour of former BBC Radio Test Match Special commentator and cricket correspondent of The Times, and open to any newspaper or online journalist who was under the age of 30 on 1 January 2015.

Each entrant is required to submit a maximum of three examples of their coverage of county cricket, preferably including evidence of exclusive stories or original material, which must have been published after 1 January 2015.

Entries can be sent by post with photocopies of articles to Isabelle Douglas, ECB, Lord’s Cricket Ground, London NW8 8QZ, or via email with PDFs to [email protected].

The closing date for entries is Monday 5 October.
