A reporter and “worthy winner” scooped two prizes and an annual Scottish media awards ceremony.
Eilidh Davies, chief eporter with the Highland News, pictured left, was named Journalist of the Year and Reporter of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards.
Other winners included Newspaper of the Year, the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald, and Community Newspaper of the Year, which was retained by Am Pàipear, a newspaper serving the Uists in the Outer Hebrides.
The awards celebrates the press in an area stretching from Shetland to Argyll and Moray to the Outer Hebrides.
Gordon Fyfe, chairman of the awards’ judging panel, said: “Eilidh produced an excellent portfolio of news reports and features, all with a strong human interest element.
“She is a worthy winner and joins an elite group of writers and photographers to lift this coveted prize.”
