Daily’s crime reporter steps up to newsdesk role

johnsiddleA regional daily crime reporter has stepped up to a newsdesk role at the same title.

John Siddle, left, has become news content editor at the Liverpool Echo having previously served as crime reporter at the Trinity Mirror-owned newspaper.

The Echo has yet to announce a successor to John on the crime beat.

Other recent job moves in the regional press include the following.

  • Media Wales has appointed Sion Morgan as assistant content editor working across the Western Mail, South Wales Echo,  WalesOnline and Wales on Sunday. Sion was previously West Wales reporter across the titles.
  • James Driver-Fisher has been appointed reporter at the Express & Star, covering Sandwell, Wyre Forest and Dudley.
  • The Bath Chronicle has appointed Tim MacFarlan as reporter. Tim previously served as global news reporter at MailOnline.
  • Lorna Morris has been appointed reporter at the Worcester Times.
  • Wigan Evening Post reporter Lucy Hilton has left the paper to join Rule 5 PR in Manchester.
  • Simon Binns has been appointed What’s On editor at the Manchester Evening News.
  • Enda Mullen, previously a reporter and the Birmingham Mail and Post, has been appointed business and development agenda writer at the Coventry Telegraph.
  • David McPhee has been appointed reporter at the Oban Times.
  • Mike Jarvis has left his role as news editor at the Cornish Guardian.
