Daily asks readers to do 30 things to mark hospice anniversary

A charity campaign to mark the 30th anniversary of a hospice’s opening has been launched in association with a regional daily.

The Leicester Mercury has joined forces with Loros, which cares for terminally ill people in Leicestershire and Rutland in its 30 For 30 fundraising campaign.

Readers are being encouraged to mark the charity’s anniversary next month by each raising £30.

Alternatively, they are being asked to complete 30 activities – such as read 30 books or swim 30 lengths of a pool – to raise cash.

Mercury editor Kevin Booth said: “We are delighted to be supporting this September’s 30 For 30 campaign to help raise funds and awareness for Loros.

“In some way or another, the incredible work the hospice does has touched a lot of people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – it’s only right that everyone, including us, get involved.

“We’re looking forward to sharing everybody’s fund-raising efforts over the month.”

The campaign will receive daily coverage in the newspaper throughout the month of September.
