Staff at a Welsh weekly donned wigs and stepped up to the microphone to record their own interpretation of a classic Christmas song.
More than 20 of the Pembrokeshire Herald team took on the challenge of covering the Band Aid hit Do They Know It’s Christmas? for charity.
The accompanying video, which was recorded in the paper’s offices in Milford Haven, parodies Bob Geldof’s 1980s supergroup.
For every ‘like’ or ‘share’ the video receives on the Herald’s Facebook page before 1 December, £1 will be donated to either Save The Children or a local good cause – up to a maximum of £5,000.
Sales manager Gavin Young said: “My wardrobe is full of my 80s gear so it was really nice to dust it off and get back in it.
“We had a lot of fun filming the remake and it was a great opportunity to do something different as a team which helped motivate the staff, which is very important here.”
Managing director Thomas Sinclair added: “It was a great opportunity to boost staff morale whilst raising money for such a worthy cause.
“We all had so much fun and are making plans for next year already.”

Think you’ll find that should be 80s and not 80’s.

And two references to needing to motivate staff and boost morale – doesn’t paint a good picture of life at this paper does it?

Brilliant idea. I’d play it on our radio station, but I hate those bastards!

Practically every workplace across the world (especially India/China) needs motivating and boosting staff morale.

Frank Brown. I would go for Eighties. Either way it is crap song and I cannot stand it. I would willingly pay a donation to charity never to hear it again, however good the motive.
