Training body seeks views on journalism apprenticeships

Training leaders are seeking employers’ views on proposed minimum standards for journalism apprentices.

A number of regional publishers including Johnston Press, Archant, the KM Group and Newsquest have been working with the National Council for the Training of Journalists to draw up a new apprenticeship standard for junior journalists.

A draft of the standard is now available for consultation and the NCTJ is seeking employers’ views.

The proposals are due to be submitted to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills by the end of the month.
