Two sister dailies joined forces to fill shoeboxes for of Christmas treats for needy children.

Between them, staff at the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star filled 25 shoeboxes for the charity appeal.

The effort for the Samaritans Purse Shoebox Appeal at the Archant Suffolk titles was organised by advertising manager Fiona Wilkinson.

Along with colleague Michelle Patrick she encouraged staff to make generous donations of toiletries, stationery and toys.

Said Fiona: “It is a fantastic cause and I was amazed at how many of my colleagues dug deep to support it.

“It is great to know some of the children who have so little will get something to open this Christmas.”
