The Scottish Newspaper Society has launched a new website with the aim of making it the main source of information about Scottish newspapers.

The site, www.scotns.org.uk, went live shortly before the recent inaugural SNS conference and was designed and developed by the head of digital innovation at The Herald & Times, Grant Gibson.

It features details of all member companies and well as links to other media organisations and news websites and opinion pieces.

SNS director John McLellan said: “The SNS has needed its own website for some time and I’m obviously delighted we’ve now got it up and running.

“It’s at a very early stage but I hope we can develop it further in the coming weeks to provide as much information as possible about our industry.

“I hope we’ll be able to update it regularly with news and comment about the issues affecting our businesses, and for it to become a useful tool for everyone doing business with our companies.”
