Publisher offers new sales incentives to newsagents

A regional magazine publisher is giving newsagents the chance to double their profit margins on copies of its titles sold.

Archant is teaming up with the National Federation of Retail Newsagents to offer the deal to retailers.

Between now and December, NFRN members who newly stock any of the publisher’s Archant Life magazines will receive a 50pc cut on each sale – double the usual 25pc margin.

Existing stockists will also benefit from the deal so long as they perform better than their 2013 performance or above market conditions.

Phil Elcome, Archant’s regional retail circulation manager, said: “Archant understands the importance and value of the independent newsagent in selling its magazines. With NFRN members crucial to the success of these publications, this sales gain promotion is a win for both us as the publisher and the independent retailer.

“Archant would like to take this opportunity of thanking you all in making our County titles a success and wish you success with this exciting new promotion.”

NFRN news operations controller Brian Murphy added: “We are delighted to be working with Archant Community Media to boost sales of its magazines in members’ stores. I would urge any member who has not previously stocked their local Archant magazine to do so and get behind this fabulous opportunity to double your margin by prominently displaying copies in your store.

“I would also encourage existing stockists to support the title to gain new sales and rewards if they exceed their 2013 sales levels.”
