NUJ offers its condolences on death of Bob Crow

The National Union of Journalists has offered its condolences to the family and friends of the rail union leader Bob Crow following his sudden death.

General secretary Michelle Stanistreet said the Rail, Maritime and Transport union leader’s death from a heart attack at the age of 52 will shock and sadden many trade unionists.

Said Michelle Stanistreet:  “Bob’s death comes as an enormous shock to all who knew him. He was a huge character, a respected trade union leader, and a powerful advocate for RMT members.

“He was one of the most prominent leaders of the trade union movement in Britain and he will be truly missed.”
