Newspaper site to show live rugby match

The Daily Record is to show exclusive coverage of the opening game of Scotland’s summer rugby tour on its website this weekend.

Scotland take on the USA in Houston on Sunday with new head coach Vern Cotter taking charge of Scotland for the first time

Along with its sister website mirror.co.uk, dailyrecord.co.uk will be the only place UK viewers will be able to watch the game live.

Allan Rennie, managing director of publishers Media Scotland said: “We are delighted to be making a little bit of rugby history by live-streaming USA v Scotland free to fans across the world.

“It is another ground-breaking deal from Scotland’s biggest and fastest-growing website and we’re pleased to be doing it with Scottish Rugby at such an exciting time for the sport.”

Scottish Rugby’s director of commercial operations, communications and public affairs Dominic McKay added:  “The Daily Record have been great partners recently supporting Scottish Rugby and this new development enabling all Scotland rugby fans to watch the USA v Scotland game for free and online is welcome news. “
