Monthly sales boost for Trinity Mirror Sundays

Three of Trinity Mirror’s four regional Sunday titles posted circulation increases in July compared to the previous months, according to ABC figures published today.

The Sunday Sun, Newcastle, Sunday Mercury, Birmingham and Liverpool Sunday Echo all saw their sales rise last month.

Best-performing title was the Sunday Echo, with a 15.6pc month-on-month increase, followed the Sunday Sun with 10pc and the Sunday Mercury with 2.6pc.

However the group’s fourth Sunday title, Wales on Sunday, saw its sales fall month-on-month by 5.3pc.

All the group’s major regional titles continued to post year-on-year sales declines, with Wales on Sunday down 32.9pc and the South Wales Echo down 19.2pc.

The part-free, part paid-for Manchester Evening News continued to be the group’s best-performing title, with circulation down 3pc year-on-year in July.

This month’s figures also included separate figures for sale of digital editions, with all titles except the MEN showing a month-on-month increase.

Best-performing digital title in the group is the Liverpool Echo which currently sells an average of 546 digital editions monthly.
