Johnston Press launch digital recruitment service

Regional publisher Johnston Press has launched a new digital recruitment service aimed at helping employers find the perfect candidate in the engineering field.

The new service, www.theengineerlist.co.uk, is a spin off of JP’s online recruitment tool, TheSmartList, which allows companies to source jobseekers via a pre-screened shortlist of qualified candidates and means vacant roles can be filled quickly and effectively.

Employers submit details of their vacancy and TheEngineerList team prepares a recruitment brief against which candidates can be matched.

Promising individuals are screened using a questionnaire and, once TheEngineerList is finalised, the employer can review the candidates and select the best for interview.

“This new service will utilise the strengths of Johnston Press’ established recruitment platforms to generate applications and CVs will be filtered by industry professionals to guarantee quality,” said Joe Slavin, managing director of recruitment at Johnston Press.

Ironic, really, that JP is trying to make money off the back of employers while itself shedding hundreds of jobs.
