Possibly not everyone’s idea of a joke, but it seems that an old urban myth about a character in the 70s cartoon series Captain Pugwash has somehow found its way into the Whitby Gazette’s picture special on the recent Egton Show.

Who are the two in the bottom left…Seaman Staines & Roger the cabin boy. Yes I know the boy was called Tom. The ship’s flag was a jolly Roger.
They don’t make them like that any more. Shame.
