The editor of a regional publisher’s skydive magazine has swooped to win a coveted award in aviation journalism.

Liz Ashley, editor of Archant Dialogue’s Skydive the Mag, has won the Royal Aero Club’s Nexus Sport Aviation Journalist of the Year Award.

The award is given to the journalist, producer or author of the outstanding media item on sporting and recreational aviation during the preceding year.

Liz, who was nominated by the British Parachute Association, has overseen a redesign of the magazine and the launch of a dedicated App in her time as editor.

“I am absolutely delighted to receive this award, and it means so much to me,” she said.

“To know that others also love the magazine, and to receive such prestigious recognition for it, is simply the icing on the cake.”

British Parachute Association chairman Martin Soulsby said: “There was really only one choice for who this year’s worthy winner would be. This is an honour and recognition that Liz so richly deserves.”
