A regional daily business editor has made the switch to PR to join a growing North West communications agency.
Robbie MacDonald has moved from the Bolton News to Polaris Media Management as a senior account manager.
Glasgow-born Robbie, 45, has worked on daily and weekly papers across the North and has lived and worked in the North West for the past 11 years.
At the Bolton News he was responsible for daily business coverage as well as supplements and the annual Bolton & Bury Business Awards.
Said Robbie: “I’m very pleased to be joining Polaris which is a progressive and dynamic business. I will be looking to make a strong impact by driving high-level publicity campaigns targeting the regional, UK and worldwide trade media.
“It will be fascinating to work with Polaris’ stable of clients, many of whom are industry-leaders in their respective fields.”
Polaris Media director Ben added: “I believe Robbie’s skill-set, which is rooted in professional-standard English journalism, will help Polaris achieve its strategic growth objectives.
“Our knowledge and understanding of the media is key to driving business growth in the UK. Furthermore our ability to communicate clearly in English journalese is highly valuable to many overseas businesses.”
The company, stated by journalist brothers Ben and Sam Pinnington, has offices in Ellesmere Port and Manchester.
It specialises in the maritime, engineering and manufacturing sectors and clients include Merseyside’s Cammell Laird and global manufacturers Roxtec.
