Call for entries for annual Foot awards

Entries are now open for one of the most the prestigious awards in UK investigative and campaigning journalism.

The Paul Foot Award, now in its tenth year, was set up by The Guardian and Private Eye in honour of Paul who died in 2004 aged 66.

Submissions are now being accepted for material published in a newspaper or magazine in the UK, or on a website, between 1 November 2013 and 31 October 2014.  The deadline for entries is Monday 10 November.

The competition is open to both individual journalists, teams of journalists or entire publications and entries will be considered for anything from single pieces to entire campaigns.

The winning entry will be awarded £5,000, with the runner-up entries each receiving £1,000.  The shortlist will be announced in January 2015 with an awards ceremony in London the following month.
