Transport reporter joins train company in PR role

A transport journalist at Scottish daily The Herald is leaving the paper after 10 years to take on a PR role with Virgin Trains.

Damien Henderson will leave the title at the end of the month to take on the role of communications manager for Scotland and the North of England for the train company.

In his new role, he will replace Allan McLean, a former transport correspondent at The Scotsman, who has retired.

Damien said he was “incredibly excited” about joining Virgin Trains.

He said: “I’ve had a thrilling career at The Herald over the last decade, especially over the last three (nearly four) years as Transport Correspondent and have been privileged to work with some of Scotland’s finest journalists in that time.”
