A leading Scottish daily newspaper is to launch two new high-end lifestyle supplements from this weekend.
The Press and Journal is launching a weekly Saturday supplement, YL, and a quarterly glossy magazine, Elegance.
YL, which stands for Your Life, will cover food and drink, travel, property, fashion and interior design and include recipes from celebrity chefs including Jamie Oliver.
Meanwhile Elegance will offer what P&J editor Damian Bates calls “an insight into the realms of luxury” and will be distributed quarterly as part of the paper, as well as at selected hotels throughout the North of Scotland.
Damian said the newspaper was producing a bumper package for readers and wanted to offer them something different.
“Our research highlighted a gap in the market for luxury and lifestyle publications for the North of Scotland. It’s vital that we meet the needs of our readers and give them something fantastic to delve into over the weekend,” he said.
“I am delighted to launch two new quality supplements that will enhance and develop The Press and Journal brand.
“I hope that these new supplements will add to the success of the P&J and give people more reason than ever to pick up their P&J each and every day.”
Damian described YL as “a quality Saturday supplement with an emphasis on lifestyle,” while Elegance is “all about offering readers an insight into the realms of luxury that so many of us can only dream of attaining.”
“For some who have been successful in their chosen fields in the booming economies of the North of Scotland, it will also give them some clues as to how to part with their hard-earned cash!” he added.
