A regional daily has launched a digital Advent calendar which features photos relating to the city in the countdown to Christmas.

The Herald in Plymouth has created the Advent calendar on its website and each day until 24 December, a number will appear on its homepage for users to click on.

It will then take them to an article featuring a photo of something related to the city and readers are also being asked to contribute their own pictures for the calendar.

Senior reporter Sam Blackledge said: “The digital Advent calendar is a great way for our thousands of online readers to share in the excitement of that pre-Christmas feeling.

“They can look forward to opening the calendar each morning and discovering a new image illustrating a different aspect of Plymouth life.”
