Newsdesk role for award-winning weekly editor

An award-winning journalist who worked her way up from junior reporter to editor has moved to a new role.

Keeley Knowles started with LSN Media as a trainee six years ago and was eventually appointed editor of innovative new free title Bedford Midweek.

She left Bedford on Friday and started work this week as assistant news editor of Newsquest-owned daily the Oxford Mail.

Her former group editor Steve Lowe said Keeley was following in what he called “a long and honourable tradition of journalists moving on after being trained the LSN way.”

Bedford Midweek thrived under Keeley’s editorship and was named free newspaper of the year at last month’s EDF Energy East of England Media awards.
