Local World appoints chief information officer

Regional publisher Local World has appointed a chief information officer, as the company seeks to further digitise its operations.

Torben Lundberg, left, will join Local World on 30 September, leaving his role as group CIO of Mecom Group Plc – which was founded by Local World chairman David Montgomery.

In his role with the regional publisher, Torben will be responsible for maintaining and improving the technical infrastructure of the group and providing systems to further digitise the company’s content and commercial operations.

Before joining publishing group Mecom, Torben worked as CIO for Berlingske Media, director of digital media at Devoteam Consulting and head of technology at the Danish Broadcasting Corporation.

Local World chief executive Steve Auckland said: “I am delighted that Torben will be joining Local World. His vast experience in print and digital transformation will be an asset to the business at this pivotal time.”

While working at Mecom, Torben implemented the digital transformation of Mecom’s web, tablet, mobile and e-commerce platforms.

WTF a CIO do in today’s heady world of ex-print media.
Oh, I see, ”’maintaining and improving the technical infrastructure of the group and providing systems to further digitise the company’s content and commercial” so a BSM then? ROFLMAO,

Hush, can you hear the death knell?
