Former regional business editor sets up PR firm

A former business editor who left his job after 23 years at a leading regional daily has launched a new PR and media training agency.

Kevin Feddy (pictured), aged 50, left the Manchester Evening News last month and has now set up Kevin Feddy Media.

Kevin started his career at the Evening Courier in Halifax before moving on to the Evening Chronicle in Newcastle. He joined the MEN in 1990 as the paper’s Manchester Airport reporter and district reporter for Bury, Bolton and Wigan, before moving onto the business desk in 2000.

Kevin said he will provide traditional PR services as well as media training and copywriting.

“I enjoyed my time at the MEN immensely and will be putting my extensive experience to good use on behalf of my clients,” he said.

“With my strong news sense, writing abilities, understanding of business and the media and extensive network of contacts, I believe I am able to offer a compelling personal service to companies across a variety of sectors.

“I’m thoroughly enjoying my new career.”

He said he has already signed up clients including accountancy firm HURST, recruitment business Stark Brooks, law firm gunnercooke and corporate uniforms and event clothing supplier Quayside Group.
