Deadline extended for South West Media Awards

The deadline to enter the 2013 EDF Energy South West Media Awards has been extended by a week and now closes at 5pm on Friday 19 April.

The awards, held in association with HoldtheFrontPage, are now in their ninth year and cover Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Bath, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.

This year’s awards include new categories for Specialist Journalist and Digital Journalist of the Year, replacing the Environmental and Business categories.

The Specialist award is open to journalists who report on any specialist subject for regional or local publications or broadcasters, for example politics, education, crime, business, environment and health (not sport – a separate category).

Digital Journalist of the Year is an award for newspaper, broadcast or web journalists who use creative and innovative ways to reach and engage with audiences through one or more digital platforms for regional or local publications or broadcast media.
