Budding journalists carry out six-hour live broadcast

A group of budding journalists carried out a broadcast of live TV for a landmark six hours.

Around 60 television and broadcasting students from the University of Portsmouth carried out the broadcast of its CCI TV channel, which was shown on the Portsmouth Big Screen and over the internet.

The broadcast included six brand new programmes, including two live simultaneous transmissions, allowing online viewers to choose between a magazine-style show from the CCI TV studios and a students’ fashion show.

Course leader Charlie Watts said: “This is what my course is ultimately designed to do, to broadcast live original content far and wide, for as long as entertainingly possible.”

Last year over 50 undergraduate students produced a live four-hour TV event for the CCI TV Channel.

The full broadcast will be available to view here.
