Baywatch star guest edits Midlands daily

Baywatch legend David Hasselhof took a break from his acting schedule yesterday to guest-edit a Midlands regional daily.

The actor, universally known as The Hoff, is currently appearing as Captain Hook in the Theatre Royal Nottingham’s production of Peter Pan.

But yesterday he took time out from the show to pay a visit to the offices of the Nottingham Post where he gave journalists his views on the paper.

Editor Mike Sassi tweeted his thanks to the star for dropping in and posted a picture of the two of them together.

Mike told HTFP:  “He was a fantastic fella – incredibly open and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he answered every question directly.

“Most of his Guest Editor decisions involved him talking-up Nottingham, his pantomime and  local  people who he reckons have made him very welcome. But he was great to ‘work’ with. It’s easy to see why he’s so popular.

“It also reflects great credit on the Nottingham Theatre Royal that they’ve managed to bring him to the city.”

During the visit, Hasselhof revealed he goes to Sainsbury’s to buy the paper and said he might spend New Year’s Eve at the city’s Old Market Square.

Staff also treated him to a taste of the local speciality – Stilton.

The Post is inviting readers to tweet sightings of Hasselhoff in the city, using the hashtag #Hoffwatch.
