Award for sexual health journalism opens for entries

Journalists who have written about sexual health issues are being invited to enter an award scheme.

The Rosemary Goodchild Award recognises excellence in sexual health journalism and is named after a former press officer for sexual health charity FPA, who died of ovarian cancer in 1988.

The winner will be presented with a £500 prize, sponsored by the Goodchild family, at the UK Sexual Health Awards next March at a ceremony in London.

It is open to all UK-based national and regional press and those who write for consumer magazines and professional journals.

Previous winning articles have discussed themes as varied as vasectomies for men and the best sex toys for women and this year’s winner was Louise Tickle, who wrote a piece in The Guardian about the sexual health of young people in care.

The deadline for entries is 29 November and for details on how to enter, click here.
