Regional daily reporter’s Sir Jimmy biography published

A book by a regional press reporter telling the life story of Sir Jimmy Savile has now been published.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Alison Bellamy has penned an authorised biography of Sir Jimmy entitled How’s About That, Then?

It includes exclusive interviews with former girlfriends, details about his relationships with the royals and a look at his frugal millionaire’s lifestyle and more about his style, cigars and bling.

Alison was a friend of the icon for many years and was approached by publishers Great Northern Books to write his authorised biography following his death last October.

She said: “It has been a marathon writing the book in just four and a half months, usually at bedtime when the little ones are asleep and thanks to my mum, was able to get on with it any spare time I had, as well as working. I do really miss Jimmy, not just for his news stories, but for his friendship. he was a complete one-off.”

The book is priced at £16.99 and £1 from each book sold will raise money for two Leeds-based charities – The Little Sisters of the Poor and Bethany’s Smile.
