Promotion for journalist after successful campaign

A chief reporter who spearheaded a successful campaign to have a killer stretch of a road made safer has been promoted to a new role.

As reported on HTFP last week, the Dumfries and Galloway Standard gathered 4,352 signatures on a petition to upgrade the A75 in response to the tragic death of an 18-day-old baby in a three-car smash in March.

The petition was presented to the Scottish Government by chief reporter Craig Robertson.

Craig has now been appointed news editor of the Standard’s sister title, the Kilmarnock Standard. He has been succeeded in Dumfries by Jackie Grant.
