NCTJ course aims to help journalists go freelance

A one-day course will be held next year for journalists considering a move to become freelances.

The National Council for the Training of Journalists has arranged the course, which is designed to refresh skills in news writing, grammar and editing.

It will also cover key areas such as how to pitch ideas and build relationships with editors, finding a market and information about becoming self-employed.

The course, which costs £375 plus VAT, will be held on 5 February at the NCTJ’s headquarters in Newport, Essex.
