Mail executive joins board of oldest press club

Birmingham Mail executive editor Stacey Barnfield has joined the board of the Birmingham Press Club.

Stacey, who started his career on the Solihull News 20 years ago, is the latest recruit to help run the club, which dates back to December 16, 1865 and is believed to be the oldest in the world.

Said Stacey: “As a born and bred Brummie and former Evening Mail paper boy, I have enormous pride in the role I now play at the Birmingham Mail and I hope I can bring some of the enthusiasm and passion I have for my city to the Press Club.”

Press Club chairman and Heart FM DJ Ed James said: “Stacey is very well connected within the West Midlands and beyond and I’m sure his skills and enthusiasm will help drive us to even greater heights.”
