Hyperlocal sites turn pink in search for missing April

Two hyperlocal news websites in Wales have been turned pink to support the search for missing five-year-old April Jones.

The family of the missing girl, who disappeared on Monday, appealed for their town of Machynlleth in Powys to be turned pink, April’s favourite colour, as the search for her continues.

The Mywelshpool and Mynewtown hyperlocal sites have now gone pink in support of the hunt for April.

Editor David Williams said: “Mywelshpool and Mynewtown have answered April’s family’s pink appeal by turning our sites completely pink until the missing five-year-old is found.

“We are keeping the people of Mid Wales up to date with regular bulletins as the search goes on. The town has responded to the pink appeal and just about everyone is wearing pink ribbons and businesses and schools are dressed in pink.”

Earlier this week, the North Wales Daily Post joined the hunt for April by publishing a missing person’s poster on its front page.
