A former weekly newspaper editor has returned to his North East roots with a role as a reporter for a regional daily.

Stuart Laundy, who is originally from County Durham, has been appointed Teesdale reporter at The Northern Echo.

He was editor of the Berwick Advertiser and Berwickshire News from 2008 to 2010 before moving to the Oban Times Group as deputy editor.

Stuart then had a brief spell as editor of the Border Telegraph and the Peeblesshire News newspapers before his move back to the North-East.
