A former Scottish football correspondent at The Times has joined The Herald’s website as a sports columnist.

Graham Spiers was previously chief sports writer at The Herald before he joined The Times and will now write a weekly column called Spiers on Sport available only on the paper’s website, HeraldScotland.

The move is part of The Herald’s plan to grow its digital brand by offering exclusive content online and coincides with the expansion of its digital editorial team.

Graham left The Times earlier this year and is currently presenting a weekly golf show on BBC Radio Scotland, while he also writes columns and articles for the Sunday Herald, The Scotsman and The Herald Magazine.
