The outspoken media analyst Jim Chisholm has been appointed as the new boss of the Scottish Newspaper Society.

Jim, who has worked  international media consultant for the past 18 years, takes over from Jim Raeburn who has headed the SNS and its predecessor organisations since 1994.

A former executive of The Press and Journal and The Scotsman, Jim has forged a reputation as one of the most innovative thinkers on the future of the print media.

Society president Tim Blott said:  “I am delighted Jim is joining us as the new director.  He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge about our industry and a passion for our profession.”

Added Jim:  “Having been lucky enough to work with editors and publishers across the world, I retain a particular passion for the Scottish newspaper scene.

“I am looking forward to working with the Society’s members and the wider range of industry stakeholders to enhance the value and influence of newspapers across the Scottish community.”
